Rencana Umum Ketenagalistrikan (RUKN)

Pursuant to Article 5 paragraph (1) of Law No. 30 of 2009 on Electricity, one of the authorities of the Government in the electricity sector is to establish the National Electricity General Plan (Rencana Umum Ketenagalistrikan Nasional or RUKN). The RUKN document outlines national electricity policies, the current state of national electricity supply, projections of demand and supply through 2060, system development plans, and the investment requirements for national electricity provision. On 5 March 2025, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources enacted the Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia No. 85.K/TL.01/MEM.L/2025 concerning the National Electricity General Plan, which serves as an update to the RUKN 2019–2038.
